The Fraunhofer Alliance Chemistry is a reliable partner of chemical industry for development and scale-up of new technologies for commercialization of new products and processes.

Being a partner for applied research and development, we can offer exclusive cooperation possibilities for increasing the technological readiness level and scale-up of chemical processes. We not only provide modern infrastructure and equipment, but we also offer complementing competencies, starting from technical realization and operation up to process safety, regulatory affairs and questions of sustainability and process economy.
Cooperation with Fraunhofer also serves to reduce development risks via Fraunhofer taking over larger research tasks, even up to realization of prototypes. 

With its modular reactor and plant technology at the Leuna site, the Fraunhofer IGB/CBP has a unique interface to the industrial application of biotechnological and chemical processes. This enables us to map complete process chains - from raw material preparation and various material conversion processes through to product separation and purification - and to optimise processes on behalf of customers. This currently includes the areas of lignocellulose biorefinery, oilseed biorefinery, fermentation, chemical conversion and material separation and purification. The Fraunhofer Polymer Pilot Plant Center has flexible polymerizations pilot plants and modern laboratories. With this and our extensive knowledge in the field, we support our clients as competent partners in the development and scale-up of new polymer products and polymerization processes. We can generate product samples up to the tons scale. Depending on the project focus, our work may also start with recipe- and product development in our well-equipped laboratories.
